In general would you prefer your character to smell like something specific Drew would make note of? It'd be interesting for him to note that he's used guns or has a dog back home, maybe one here sometime. If that's something he can do? Are you okay with Drew loudly and obnoxiously identifying your character? Yes. Are you okay with Drew loudly and obnoxiously identifying and talking about / discussing your character's emotional state? This would be okay with me. He has nightmares about everything that's happened, so if Drew picks up on any of that, we could play that out.
